BMW M5 Concept

BMW released the details and images of the 2012 BMW M5 Concept, which is going to have its world premiere at the 2011 Shanghai Motor show that’s scheduled later this month. Even though the company calls it a concept car, looking at the pictures we can see that the car looks exactly like its production version. The details of the 2012 BMW M5 were leaked from a limited priview event held in Germany last weekend.

The specifications of the car’s engine are still kept a secret by the company. What they did confirm is that the 2012 BMW M5 will have a new high-revving V8 engine with M twin-turbo technology. Most sources previously speculated that BMW’s 2012 M5 will have the same engine as the X5M and the X6M. However, later BMW clearly stated that the new M5 concept will have a new powerplant. The engine of the 2012 BMW M5 concept will be mated to a seven-speed M double-clutch transmission with Drivelogic.

The most part of the difference between the concept and the production model could be the fact that the production model for the car might not have black wheels. Also the new concept may get full M treatment with aggressive bumpers, front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser and four big tailpipes.
