The new Acura ZDX is a vehicle that has been designed to look completely different from other cars that come in the same category. The ZDX looks like it’s ready to get into action. The dynamic tapered roof lined, deep shoulders and dramatic fenders create a sense of tension, like a slingshot pulled back, ready to fire. The designers wanted to make the ZDX look like it was being pulled more taut than any other vehicle.
The first thing that one notices while inspecting the vehicle is the new signature front grille, along with the wheels that seems to be pushing up through the body. The cabin seems to be stretching from the base of the vehicle. Along with the details like the hidden rear door handles, the narrow effect helps highlight the importance placed on the vehicle’s cockpit. Though the roofline is sloping, the Acura ZDX offers an adequate amount of cargo storage. There’s a cargo space of 26. 3 cubic feet with the rear seat up, which expands to 55.8 cubic feet with the rear seat folded flat.
The ZDX’s cockpit has been luxuriously crafted with comfort and continuity in mind. Its refined leather dash unfolds with flowing lines that echo the exterior. Each leather piece inside the ZDX is carefully selected to ensure premium quality while retaining its rich and natural grain. Apart from the luxurious interiors what one can notice is the lack of outside noise. The Acura ZDX has got Active Noise Cancellation system that detects undesirable engine noise and emits opposing frequencies to cancel it out. The interior looks very much similar to the Acura TL sedan.
The ZDX is powered from 3.7 liter V6 Honda engine which is tuned to produce about 300 ho and 270 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is six-speed automatic, meeting the pavement at all the four corners via Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. The Acura ZDX has a fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 22mpg at the highway.
Acura ZDX is available in three tri levels, the ZDX, ZDX with Technology Package and ADX with Advance Package. The base model of ZDX is very well equipped with a sporty look having a panoramic glass roof, hand stitched leather, CD stereo with USB and iPod connectivity , Bluetooth and power tailgate.
