The car is designed in Germany and is basically European type. ExteriorThe Hyundai i30 has been designed at the Hyundai Research & Development headquater in Russelsheim, Germany and the European Styles are quite evident in and out of the car. The broad outlook and the strong characteristic lines on the body reflects the sporty styling of the Hyundai i30. Although many of the mechanical components of the i30 is shared by Kia, the body work has been done in such a manner as to make it look unique. The vehicle is a five seater hatchback with Xenon headlamps that looks sporty and has fog lamps with ORVM indicators. The wheels of Hyundai i30 have been carefully selected so as to make it look as modern as possible. Also the Hyundai i30 gives easy access to vehicle locking, window and mirror controls as these things are located on the driver’s door armrest. Power windows throughout the cabin give all occupants their choice of natural ventilation at the touch of a button.
Interior
The interior of the hyundai i30 is well equipped with a number of standard features. The audio consists of an integrated radio, MP3/CD player, AUX, USB and the bluetooth technology. The dashboard of the Hyundai i30 is made wider and has AC vents at both of its ends. The driver can handle the car easily, thanks to the tilt steering powering the car. The car can accomodate 5 people in all including the driver. The seats are very broad as well as relaxing. Also the luggage space is provided with enormous room with 340 litres of luggage space, and can be increased to 1,250 litres when they are fully folded. Seat belts are provided for all the seats which makes the passengers feel safe. Some of the safety features include dual front, side & the curtain airbags, pretensioning seatbelts, active headrest and the seatbelt reminders.
Engine
Hyundai plans to launch i30 in both diesel and petrol versions in India and both these engines have the same specifications. The 4 cylindered DOHC engine has a displacement volume of 1396cc and has 5 Speed Manual Transmission gearbox. The engine produces a maximum power of 107.5 bhp at 6200 rpm and a torque of 137.2 Nm @ 5000 rpm. The car has got a fuel capacity of about 53 liters.
Price
The Hyundai i30 Asta is expected to be priced around Rs 8,00,000 and the Hyundai i30 Magna is to be priced around Rs7,50,000. This car will be facing competition from other hatchbacks like Ford Figo, Honda Jazz, Maruti Swift, Chevrolet Beat etc.
