Land Rover, the UK based automobile company which is now owned by Tata Motors has been quite consistent in introducing new variants on a regular basis. It’s quite well known through different media, especially from Land Rover India’s website that the company is all set to launch the Range Rover Velar very soon, probably towards the end of this year. The Velar will come in four variants – Velar, Velar S, Velar SE and Velar HSE with a price tag ranging in between Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore.

Going through the exterior design, the design philosophy of Range Rover Velar is revolutionary. Striking proportions, flush door handles and an integrated rear spoiler all improve aerodynamics. The vehicle will have Matrix Laser LED headlights in the top variants with the Range Rover signature and daytime running lights giving it a bold and dynamic image on the front. Velar gets a unique identity with new design badging on the B-pillar and a sliding panoramic sunroof in black contrast. The R18 size alloy wheels with 15 spokes will have standard tyres of size 235/65 mm.

There will be additional heated ORVMs and the new type of deployable door handles making it more attractive. On the rear, there will be LED rear lights, a tailgate slotted spoiler, acoustic laminated windscreen and rain-sensing wipers, as well as solid paint options.

The Range Rover Velar has interiors that emanate elegant simplicity. From configurable ambient interior lighting to the split sliding armrests, everything has been designed and crafted to make the driver as well as the passengers arrive relaxed. The instrument panel will have a 5 inch display screen with multi-information display function. It will have eight-way manually-adjustable front seats with suede and luxtec cloth upholstery, along with a two-piece sliding front center armrest.

Talking about the power driving the Range Rover Velar, the vehicle will get two diesel and one petrol engine variant in India. The top diesel variant will boast a 3.0 Liter TD6 V6 engine that churns 296 bhp with an impressive 700Nm of Torque. The second diesel variant will be powered by a 2.0 Liter Ingenium diesel producing 177 bhp and 430 Nm of torque. However, the petrol variant ill be powered by a 2.0 Liter P250 ingenium unit producing 246 bhp of power and 265 Nm of torque. Both the petrol and diesel variants will come with an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard along with Land Rover’s Terrain Response all-wheel drive system.
