The much awaited Hyundai Avante is an upcoming sedan which is claimed to be the segment leader both in performance as well as style. After achieving great success with the Verna, the company wants to replace the Hyundai Elantra with Avante while providing stiff competition to similar cars in the segment like Toyota Corolla Altis, Chevrolet Optra, Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia, Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Laura and Volkswagen Jetta. Apart from the futuristic design the car is also packed with next generation technological features.
Exterior
Hyundai Avante has a sporty and sharp look on the exterior. The two grills with chrome finish makes the car look elegant and the sharp curves with wider base gives the Avante more masculine looks making it compete with the luxury segment cars. The revolutionary fluidic sculpture design makes the Avante’s presence on the road a treat to watch. The headlamps kind of brutal eyes enhances the overall front look of the car. At the rear the tail lamps are in tune with the front portion of the car and have been designed with the same brutal eyes look.
Interior
The interior of Hyundai Avante will almost be same as that of Elantra. With the chrome and wooden combination reflecting the richness of the interiors, Avante’s interior is believed to be one of the finest in the segment. The car will have comfortable seating for both the driver as well as the passengers along with height adjustable seats. Also it is speculated that the car would be loaded with features like multi-information TFT LCD screen, ambient lighting, tinted glass, power windows, remote fuel filler, rear defogger, remote boot, electric driver seat adjustments, AC with climate control, remote central locking and heated rear seats.
Safety
The Hyundai Avante will be loaded with a number of both active and passive safety features like the ABS (Antilock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force distribution) and multiple airbags for both driver and passengers. In addition to his other safety features include parking sensors, fog lamps and ESP to be expected in a higher variant of Avante.
Engine
The car will be powered by a 1.6L MPFI Gamma Gasoline GDi, 4 cylinder engine generating 121 bhp at 6200 rpm and 152 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Although the Indian version of Avante will be carrying only a 5- speed transmission variant. Also the car will be equipped with VVT (Variable valve Transmission) technology for better performance and efficiency.
Price & Variants
The Hyundai Avante will be priced between Rs 11-14 lakhsand is expected to give stiff competition to the other vehicles in the D-segment. Hyundai Avante will be available in the following three different engine options :
- 1.4L Petrol – maximum power of 100bhp and maximum torque of 139 Nm
- 1.6L CVVT Petrol – maximum power of 118 bhp and 156 Nm of maximum torque
- 1.6L CRDi Diesel – maximum power of 115 bhp and maximum torque of 260 Nm
